Automatic cleaning of crawler cranes at Wim Verhuur
At Wim Verhuur, a rental center for construction and garden machinery, quality is always paramount. To keep the machines in optimal condition, a more efficient and effective cleaning method was needed. Wim Verhuur used to clean their machines with a traditional high-pressure cleaner. This was very labor-intensive and also cost them a lot of time. Precious time, because time is money. That's how they ended up at Van Damme, to make their cleaning system more efficient in terms of both time and labor. Discover the advantages of a tailor-made solution for Wim Verhuur below.
The cleaning solution: automatic caterpillar sprayers
Wim Verhuur (Sint-Katelijne-Waver) rents out equipment for the construction and gardening sectors. They have machines for both professionals and private individuals: excavators, construction dryers, vibrating needles, motocultivators, shredders, tractors, scaffolding, etc. To speed up and improve this cleaning process, we installed automatic caterpillar sprayers. These sprayers clean the caterpillar tracks at high flow rates while the machine continues to move. This has proven to be very effective for large machines, such as cranes, saving no less than three-quarters (75%) of the cleaning time.
In addition, we have integrated various cleaning agents and equipment to ensure thorough cleaning. In addition to spray lances and soap dispensers, they have vacuum cleaners and cleaning products for the interior of the machines. Although these tasks are still performed manually, they have improved efficiency in other aspects of the cleaning process.
With their automated cleaning system, they can now clean faster and better with fewer people. This means that Wim Verhuur now has clean cleaning machines back in no time.
Customization for various machine sizes
One challenge Wim Verhuur faced was the fact that every machine has a different size, unlike cars or trucks, which have a standard basic shape. Thanks to the implementation of innovative cleaning technology, Wim Verhuur has been able to achieve significant improvements in terms of their cleaning.
