How do you choose the most suitable scrubber?

There is a wide range of scrubber dryers on the market. Choosing one is no easy task. However, it is simple if you follow the tips below.

Hoe kies je de meest geschikte schrobmachine - 6 conseils pour le choix de votre balayeuse

Surface area

First, check how large the area is that you need to clean. Take into account the area occupied by shelves, machines, or other obstacles, as this must be deducted from the total area.

  • For areas of less than 3,000 m², it is best to choose a walk-behind scrubber. These are handy, maneuverable, and budget-friendly.
  • From 2,000 m² you can consider a ride-on scrubber. The work goes a lot faster due to the large autonomy and large working width, and they are a lot more comfortable.
  • Does the ride-on scrubber also have to fit through standard doorways of 80 cm? Then the RCM Link is the right machine for you.

Frequency

For very frequent use (daily/weekly), it is better to choose a larger model. This can save you a lot of time and money:

  • The larger the model, the greater the working width, the less you have to drive back and forth
  • The larger the model, the longer you can work without charging the batteries or emptying/filling the reservoirs

You can easily save 10 minutes of work per cleaning session. What's more, you also save on wear and tear parts. Just do the math on an annual basis!

Type of dirt

Is there small, loose dirt? Then choose a model with cylindrical brushes instead of flat brushes. These not only scrub the floor, they can also pick up small dirt so you don't have to sweep first. The walk-behind scrubbers Mega I and Mega II and all ride-on scrubbers from RCM have a variant with cylindrical brushes. If there is no loose dirt, choose flat brushes. These clean more thoroughly and have lower maintenance costs.

If the scrubber is used to clean delicate floors such as natural stone or ceramic tiles, replace the flat brushes with pads.

If there are large amounts of loose dirt on a large surface area (10,000 m² or more), there is the Combo. This device sweeps and scrubs in one movement, combining the best of both worlds. For large amounts of loose dirt and smaller areas, it is advisable to choose a sweeper.
