How does the recycling system work?

The system consists of a combination of underground purification basins and an above-ground buffer tank:

Above ground is a buffer tank filled with clean water, ready to feed your truck wash.
Underground, several tanks purify the used water step by step.

The process is as follows:

Collection of dirty water: The water from the truck wash runs through the gutter to a sludge trap. This trap collects the coarsest dirt by sedimentation. If the collection tank is too small, the dirt does not have enough time to sink to the bottom.
Biological purification: The water then flows to a bio-basin containing microorganisms and plastic carriers. The bacteria break down organic substances, thereby purifying the water biologically.
Buffer basin: The biologically purified water collects in a buffer basin, from where it is pumped upwards.
Sand filter: Once at the top, the water runs through a sand filter, where the finest dirt particles are left behind. The purified water is then stored in the buffer tank for reuse.

The entire system works in a cycle: you reuse the water, purified and filtered each time for the next wash.

System renewal

During the final rinse of a wash cycle, fresh city water is added. This ensures that new water is supplied regularly and that the quality of the wash water remains optimal.

Filter maintenance & operation

The sand filter works by gravity: the water drips from above through the sand bed, leaving behind any dirt. Over time, the sand becomes saturated. That is why there is an automatic backwash process that takes place approximately every 12 hours or when the flow rate becomes too low. This involves rinsing the sand in the opposite direction.

In addition, the system is filtered periodically, for example every hour, to prevent stagnant water. If the buffer is full, the excess water flows back into the system, keeping the cycle active.

The above-ground buffer tank can be automatically refilled with municipal water. This keeps your truck wash installation running, even during dry periods when rainwater is scarce.
